Viola Ensemble

Attention all violists Book 4 (Telemann) - Book 6. Would you be interested in being a member of a performing group of violists? Students need to be at the above level, no exceptions, and must be recommended by their teacher - however, there are no minimum or maximum age requirements. The group will be supplementing the standard Suzuki repertoire with additional pieces, so the members must be willing to put in the time to learn new pieces, as well as review their old ones (which we expect anyway!) The goal is to create a young performing group of violists with good posture, pitch, and tone that can be called upon to represent the school in public appearances when opportunities occur.
The group will meet at 4:00 - 4:45 p.m. every Monday at the Main Campus in the Lower Level Rehearsal Room. This will give ample time for those students who are in PSSO to travel to the North Campus for orchestra. Most of the other members will remain at the Main Campus for their 5:15 Concert Orchestra rehearsal. Repertoire groups for Hancher will preempt the Viola Ensemble rehearsals. Marit Hervig will be leading the group. The group will meet 1st semester only.
Note: All students participating in the Viola Ensemble must participate in the appropriate Preucil Orchestra.
This is a group for which outside practice time is mandatory. Regular attendance is a must to make this group a success. If you are interested in joining this viola ensemble, please talk to your teacher about the possibility. Your teacher will have a form that is to be filled out and turned in to the office. Applications need to be turned in at the first String Meeting each academic year.
